Data models#
Part of the LDT Governance and Trust Framework — instantiates the iSHARE Data Space Template block Data models (© iSHARE Foundation, see Legal notices).
Purpose#
Shared data models make participants interpret data the same way — semantic interoperability so providers and consumers speak the same language.
LDT instantiation — where we stand#
- Baseline (per Grant Agreement): DCAT-AP for dataset descriptions, combined with iSHARE/Gaia-X data descriptions; NGSI-LD context broker pattern and OASC MIM2 compliance for city data; JSON-LD as serialisation.
- Canonical vocabulary:
schemas.ishare.eu/vocab#remains the canonical iSHARE namespace — the LDT extends, never forks it. LDT-specific terms get their own namespace, coordinated with iSHARE Foundation. - Domain models to select/extend: mobility & LEZ (Cartagena — ERTICO advice), energy/PED (ESSIM/DEMkit semantics), airport operations (FHC), port logistics events (Hamburg), CO₂/emissions indicators (LogiNex — incl. LCMM / ISO 23795-1 method outputs).
🧩 Building block requested — Owner: iLabs + both cities + LogiNex (mobility advice: ERTICO)#
What we need: per domain: which existing models/ontologies are reused (source, version), which extensions are needed, and who maintains them. LogiNex: the CO₂ indicator model incl. method references. Confirm MIM2/NGSI-LD mappings per city twin.

Guiding questions#
All 18 of the template's questions for this block, with the 5
LDT answerslots to fill, are on data-models/guiding-questions.md. The digest below is the subset that most shapes this block.
- Which data products require a shared semantic model, and can existing models be reused directly?
- Which meta-standards (JSON-LD, RDF/OWL) and controlled vocabularies are linked?
- Who acts as data-model provider; how are versioning, change approval and conflicts managed?
- Which vocabulary service hosts the models and how are they discoverable across EU data spaces?
