iSHARE intellectual property#

The iSHARE Trust Framework (version 3.x), the iSHARE Rulebook / Data Space Template, the iSHARE codebase and the iSHARE Data Rights Package (vocabulary, ODRL profile, credential schemas, licence catalog) are and remain the intellectual property of iSHARE Foundation (Rotterdam, NL). Within EUTwinLink they are used royalty-free for project purposes under the project's Consortium Agreement, Attachment 1 (Background). In particular:

  • Attribution to "iSHARE Foundation" is required in all uses.
  • schemas.ishare.eu/vocab# remains the canonical iSHARE namespace; this project does not fork the vocabulary namespace.
  • The Licence Catalog at licenses.ishare.eu is the binding artefact and may not be paraphrased or translated without prior written consent of iSHARE Foundation.
  • Use of the iSHARE name, logo and trademarks, of the "certified" or "iSHARE-compliant" designation, and of the iSHARE conformance/certification scheme is not granted by any open-source licence and remains reserved to iSHARE Foundation.
  • Exploitation of this scheme outside the EUTwinLink project requires prior written agreement with iSHARE Foundation.

Open-source components#

iSHARE open-source components (Participant Registry, credential issuer components, EDC iSHARE extension) are used under the licence stated in each repository at github.com/iSHAREScheme and iSHARE Foundation's GitLab. Those licences cover source code only.

EU funding#

EUTwinLink is a pilot funded through the LDT4SSC project (Grant Agreement No 101226211) under the Digital Europe Programme. Views and opinions expressed are those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the granting authority.

Working documents of the EUTwinLink consortium. Not a published iSHARE scheme; conformance claims against the iSHARE Trust Framework require certification by iSHARE Foundation.
